3. Practicing for Too Long
Short, consistent practice sessions are often more effective than long lessons. End while your child is still engaged and successful.
4. Giving Too Much Help
It’s natural to want to supply the answer, but giving children time to think and work through a word helps build independence and confidence.
5. Expecting Perfection
Learning to read takes practice. Mistakes are part of the learning process. Celebrate progress and continue providing encouragement.
